How to use it in Google Sheets
- Set your monthly take-home pay and adjust the categories until the plan looks like your real month.
- Press “Copy for Google Sheets”. The whole budget is copied as tab-separated rows.
- Open a blank Google Sheet, click cell A1, and press Cmd/Ctrl + V. Every value lands in its own cell.
- Optional: in Sheets, select the Planned column and use Insert → Function → SUM if you want the total to recalculate as you edit.
What you get
Four columns — the category, the group it belongs to (needs, wants or savings), the amount you planned, and what share of your take-home pay that is. Income sits at the top; the total allocated and what is left over sit at the bottom. Nothing is locked, so rename or delete anything once it is yours.

How do I paste this into Google Sheets without everything landing in one cell?
The Copy for Google Sheets button copies your budget as tab-separated values, which is the format Sheets expects. Click cell A1 in a blank sheet and paste normally — each value goes into its own cell. If you paste into a cell that is being edited, Sheets treats it as text, so click the cell once rather than double-clicking it.
Can I use this as a monthly budget template in Google Sheets?
Yes. The template is built around one month of take-home pay. Duplicate the sheet tab for each new month, or add a column per month if you would rather see the year side by side.
Does this connect to my bank account?
